Answering the Most Common Furnace Repair Questions
When your furnace is broken in the winter seasons, it is one of the first things you notice. An appointment for furnace repairs can take quite a few days depending on your location, so a time-sensitive furnace issue is something you want to avoid at all costs. When your furnace isn’t working, it can be for a vast variety of reasons, some requiring minor maintenance and others requiring an entire replacement installation.
In this video, we will be taking a look at the most common furnace problems and what you can do to prevent and fix them.
The champion of all furnace problems in the dirty flame sensor. Begin by taking off the metal cover to your furnace system to get a good look inside of your machine. A dirty flame sensor causes the flames to go out about 4 to 5 seconds after lighting. To fix this, unscrew the flame sensor, which is basically a simple metal rod attached to the inside of your furnace, and give it a good scrub. The second most common problem is a dirty air filter. You can buy these at any home improvement store, and replacing them is a breeze.
